Behçet Çelik

He was born in Adana in 1968. He was graduated from Law Faculty of İstanbul University in 1990. His first story was published in literary magazine Varlık in 1987 when he was 19 years old. After that his stories, essays and translation studies took their places in many newspapers and literary magazines like Notos. In 1989, he received Story Success Award of Akademi Kitabevi. He wrote many stories and received Sait Faik Story Award with his book named Gün Ortasında Arzu in 2008. And in 2011, he received another prestigious story award of Turkey called Haldun Taner Story Award with his book named Diken Ucu (2010). After many story and compilation books, Çelik wrote a young adult novel, New Kid in Class (Sınıfın Yenisi, 2011), for the “Bridge Books” collection of Günışığı Kitaplığı. And in 2016, his first children’s novel No-bags Camp (Çantasızlar Kampı) met readers to tell them about friendship. Çelik works as an editor in various newspapers and literary magazines. He lives in İstanbul with his wife.
