İrem Uşar’s first children’s novel is about a light house. The lighthouse, one of the best known, most likeable symbols of cultural heritage is the centre of the story reminding readers the values lost with technological developments. The friendship establised between the nature lover young boy, whose best friends are animals and the light of the lighthouse is narrated in an almost epical style. The story which is built around the Sivrice Lighthouse located on the Aegean shore near Assos is accompanied by the colorful illustration of Huban Korman.
The naughty boy in cuts and bruises lives in the lighthouse on the cliff with his family. His best friends were Arpacık, his mole, and Zilli, his snake. His father maintains the family tradition and puts the light of the lighthouse on at the same time every night to show ships their way. The light is what the young boy liked best after his best friends. But one day, the postman brings a letterwhich upsets the whole family’s life. The naughty boy didn’t know what to tell to the light.
