A modern time tale from İrem Uşar inviting the readers to think on the rules which are defining the limits and standardizing the human beings. Reminding the uniformity of the artefact life in spite of the diversity and liveliness in nature, the book is telling the story of a child who is obsessed with lines and smartly questioning the social norms and concept of regularity. While slightly opening a door to philosophical readings, this book is raising a powerful and hopeful noise: Nothing can barrier the creativity of childhood!

Overview

Lina is in trouble with straight lines. It’s as if her father’s profession, which is driving the crosswalk lines and the lines on highways, invaded their whole life. All family members are wearing striped clothes, a straight line is passing from the middle of their house, everything is ordered in straight lines. When Lina is faced with straight lines in the very first week of her school life, it was the final straw. Together with her friend Âdem, who is the grandson of a gardener, they start to search for a straight line which is not made by a human being. Is it possible to find such a straight line in nature?..
